Tricks: Feather Flip
celeb trick tip by peach sørensen!
Look, there’s fucking thousands of tutorials out there for your more basic stuff — kick/heel/360 flips, pop shuvs, noseslides, etc. But here at 4ts, tastes [and talent] runs to the more esoteric side of things. Welcome to Tricks; hope you’re ready to learn.

tf is this trick now? You’ve seen it in 4ts; you’ve seen it in Zero’s Nobody Vol 1 — it’s the feather flip! Rare as a black swan and inscrutable as the sea, we had to get someone special to show you how to do it: Peach Sørensen! This is a multinational effort to get the feathers flying like a pillow fight, so pay attention, bb. All images by Inberta Foto. Here’s Peach!

step 1: I start by doing a little hop, spreading my legs real wide, with my back foot on the tail pointing straight to the side, and my front foot on the tip of the nose in a 45 degree angle, same as my shoulders.
step 2: You might have to wiggle your front foot a bit so that mostly only your toe ball is on the board. This allows for a lot of pressure to build up in the board, which I find makes the trick easier to pop.
step 3: In the same moment I pop, I let my front foot slip quickly off the nose, sort of like in a No Comply, and then, instead of following through with my backfoot like you would in an Impossible, I lift it quickly up a little so that it tips the board back over more easily when I kick the tail or back truck backwards again with my front foot in the same motion.
step 4: When the board has flattened out again, my back foot should already be over the back bolts in position to land and I just have to bring my front back in under me.
step 5: While the board's already caught on my back foot, my front foot will usually touch the grip around the same time that the board touches the ground, sometimes even a tiny bit later if my weight distribution is a bit back heavy.
step 6: Sometimes, though, I land it right on the bolts. (Yay!)
That’s gospel. Thanks Peach! Alright go get it sluts
