Somewhere between the garden unit and the gabapentin — post assassination but before being addressed by the Pope under pinwheels — there’s space that needs filling and not enough neon to fill it with. So we’re [lights bowl] going with only the faintest lil line of urethane logic [licks mirror] and instead getting by on the kindness of friends.

Luckily, mag alum Isaiya Allen’s got a pro board out for North Carolina collective Lokèl, with graphics from none other than former 4ts interview subject and Jersey ripper Sean Bernhardt, aka Space Bat Killer! (Of course, you’d have known this was coming like I did when ‘Fancy’ dropped if you read Isaiya’s interview, but its always fucking dope to see a prophecy fulfilled.)
So, directly from the DMs, some insights:
There’s a whole range of shapes, from popsicles to more old school models, Isaiya says. He met Sean through social media — Space Bat’s a ‘non-ollie homie,’ a fellow boneless brigade member — and loves his work.
‘He just let me do my thing from the beinning,’ Sean says.
‘I just wanted to make something punk and pretty badass. I’ve always been drawn to traditional tattoo art and sometimes I put my spin on stuff I see — really like to draw snakes/cobras, skulls, flowers, etc.’
The eyes tell it though, spotting the snake and showing up in odd numbers and giving you the look; there’s a coffin for the hints of darkness Sean likes to lace through his work, and a skeletal middle finger fuck you for the trick cops.
‘Skull and rose is classic so I wanted to spin it and do my version of a skull rose,’ Sean says. ‘I used to draw them a lot but it’s been a while and this all came together nicely.’
Isaiya says to hit up Lokèl directly to get yours, and seeing as he’s founder and CEO, he knows. [editor’s note: 4ts doesn’t get a cut]

I may fuck around and write an entire lil reaction to this thing, but I’m more likely to not, so puh-lease fucking check out Chapman’s ‘welcome to’ for Antihero. Fucking sax & hammers, Lost Boys finding god. I’ve been seeing bloodsuckers everywhere lately — like, as in in reference to or in passing; I’m burnt, not bonkers — and I think it was all meant to prepare me for this.
