Look, St. Valentine’s Day is a remembrance, right, and not just in the liturgical sense; all the cartoon cards, talking candies, decapitated flowers, and cardiac cardboard are so many charms for the grave, because love and romance — like, capital-L love and capital R-romance — are dead. Don’t get me wrong, they exist still between breaths, but tell me — do you feel any love today? Any love right now? Do you think these roses are for you?
We’ll get ready, because you’re about to fucking feel again. Because Valentine’s is my second favorite holiday (arrows to the heart for you if you hate) and thus I feel inclined to give you a gift. And what a gift it is!
