Love skating as much as me? Doubtful, but we’re kindred spirits anyway! Let’s skate rat out about it. Subscribe to 4ts get my monthly reccos of sweet skate action for you, the Four, which comes with some semi-coherent capsules and a list for further viewing. But this is more than the Four. what’s the criteria Four a capsule?
Fuck dude, I’m not sure there’s criteria per se or in any kind of satisfying sense — don’t try to attach reason to this shit, doggie. What the Four is not is the best videos each month; this isn’t about rankings or criticism. What it’s about is sharing some of my favorite examples of my favorite medium, so the Four will mainly be determined by what moves me and I hope moves you.
And what I feel like I can write about in an entertaining way.

Ooo thanks for asking bb. I like all kinds of skating, so my hope is that each month provides a strong mix with something you’ll enjoy. My love for skating definitely outpaces my abilities, but not for a lack of trying. My go-to SKATE trick is a fakie front shuv, I love street grabs and four downs, a bean plant is always my first throw at the spot, and my favorite trick of all is the dump truck, which I think tells you all you need to know about me skate-wise.
As to my writing creds: I’ve been tricking people into paying me as a journalist/critic/essayist for over a decade. I’ve got bylines in places you’ve heard of and many more places you haven’t. I’ve written about skating for VICE, Jenkem, and The Classical (RIP) and wanted my own place to do so more and however the fuck I want.

First off, my undying gratitude. But since that isn’t worth much, paying subscribers will be able to read posts the free folks — whom I also love, promise, but maybe, like, a bit less — can’t. The aforementioned zine dream lineup up top, for sure, but also some other special stuff.
We’re talking archival skate stories that I’ve written before with a fresh edit; reporter’s notebook pieces where I provide some insight into the article, anecdotes and editorial decisions and maybe some stuff off the cutting room floor too; and some extra-special bonuses as well, including undying access to the archive, occasional themed offerings like the Halloween haunting, and your skate photos opening the Four in a shameless, shameless rip-off of Photo-G.
Maybe more stuff in the future, too.
